You Can Defend the Earth

“What kind of world will my grandchildren inherit? Mass starvation, climate migrations, flooding, a global health crisis. How can I allow that to happen?”
Bruce Hamilton, Deputy Executive Director, Sierra Club

Last month, I had the privilege of hearing Bruce and many other members of our community speak at the EPA’s listening session about the proposed repeal of the Clean Power Plan. This repeal would cost thousands of lives and do untold damage to human health, and to our planet. But you can help stop it.

Today is Earth Day. It’s also the beginning of a crucial week: the last few days to save vital environmental protections. Four damaging Trump Administration proposals have comment deadlines between April 23 and April 30. These proposals would repeal the Clean Power Plan, withdraw EPA’s guidelines for controlling air pollution from the oil and gas industry, repeal the Bureau of Land Management’s Methane and Waste Prevention Rule, and weaken EPA’s coal ash rule.

On Earth Day, stand up for the Earth. Your comments send a message to the Administration and Congress that there will be a political price to pay for these rollbacks.

DEADLINE TOMORROW, April 23! Submit your comments on the Methane Rule and Air Pollution Controls — linked pages offer talking points and a link to the comment form.

Want to do more? Submit your comments on the Clean Power Plan (deadline 4/26) and Coal Ash Rule (deadline 4/30).
