There has never been a Congress like it. Sworn in today, the 116th Congress includes over 100 women, the largest number ever. Membership of the Congressional Black and Hispanic Caucuses are at an all-time high. The youngest ever, the first openly bisexual, the first two Native American, and the first two Muslim congresswomen all took their seats.
Thanks to so many of you who trekked out to CA-10 to canvass for him, our neighbor Josh Harder was among them.
But for me, the high point of the day came when our own Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi updated her Facebook page from “Minority Leader” to “House Speaker.”
For the first time since the 2016 election, we have a legislative foothold from which to resist the Trump agenda.
