Stand Up San Francisco was founded on January 15, 2017 to resist the Trump agenda. As an Indivisible group based in California’s 12th congressional district, our mission is to apply pressure to our Members of Congress in order to delay, stall, or prevent any and all nominees, legislation, or orders forwarded by the Trump administration.

Core Principles

  • Donald Trump’s agenda will take America backwards and must be stopped.
  • To achieve this goal, we must model the values of inclusion, respect, and fairness.
  • We affirm shared values of social, racial, and economic justice.

How We Work

Following the Indivisible strategy, we meet regularly with our Members of Congress—Senators Feinstein and Harris, and Congresswoman Pelosi—and their staffs to demand that they block Trump’s policies, consistently and loudly. When they stand firm, we thank them. When they don’t, we object and insist: at in-office meetings, town halls, and public appearances.

We are an entirely volunteer-led, movement-based organization. In addition to our two co-founders, our membership provides volunteer support in media relations, organizing and leading actions, event coordination, technical and security recommendations, documentation, and communications—while standing up and speaking up at our events. We strive to model shared leadership and to help every member of Stand Up San Francisco understand and embrace congressional advocacy.
